Letter, price list, and photograph of from laboratory equipment manufacturer, Gebr. Ruhstrat AG. The company was founded in 1888 by brothers Adolf and Ernst Ruhstrat. In 1894, Gebr. Ruhstrat AG, Walther Nernst (1864-1941), and the University of Göttingen collaborated to create the first adjustable sliding resistor. The company is also credited with developing the first resistance-heated high-temperature furnace.
