Evan Pugh (1828-1864) wishes to study with James Curtis Booth (1810-1888). In shorthand, Pugh discusses some experiments in gaseous precipitation that he has carried out. Pugh became the first president of the Pennsylvania State University, serving from 1859 until his death in 1864.
