Leider habe ich sehr verspätet von dem Tode Ihres l. Vaters gehört, seien Sie mir nicht böse, dass ich erst heute mein herzliches Beileid übermittele.
Ich habe Ihren Herrn Vater ja gut gekannt und weiss, daß Sie durch seinen Weggang viel verloren haben.
Von Lotte habe ich Gottlob ganz gute Nachrichten, sie haben beide viel Arbeit & haben sich

vollständig in ihre neue Heimat eingelebt. Sie sind schon des längeren „Britannische Bürger.“
Lotte erkundigt sich immer nach Ihnen u. läßt Sie herzlich grüßen.

Dear Doctor,
Unfortunately, I heard very belatedly about the death of your dear father. Please don't be cross with me for not sending my heartfelt condolences until today.
I knew your father well and I know that you lost a lot when he passed away.
I heard good news from Lotte that they both have a lot of work, thank goodness.

They have completely settled into their new home. They've been “British Citizens” for some time.
Lotte always asks about you and sends her best regards.
Are you still in touch with Dr. Dannenberg?
