<dc:description>This audiocassette contains a conversation in Spanish and English, primarily between Eugene Garfield, an American information science pioneer, and Indigenous Mexican Huichol artist Emeteria Ríos Martínez. The conversation also includes a woman named Olga who serves as a translator, and several other unidentified people, likely also Huichol artists.

In 1979, Eugene Garfield commissioned a mural for the opening of the Institute for Scientific Information building from Martínez. He later learned that Martínez had received only 5% of the fee paid for the work. In response, Garfield arranged for her to work directly with the ISI and provided a monthly stipend so she could create freely. She was also commissioned to produce smaller yarn paintings, which were gifted to ISI clients and visitors.

In this conversation, Garfield and the artists discuss the process and themes of Huichol yarn painting and the logistics of distributing Huichol work in the United States.</dc:description>
