Liebes Jungel! Am Jahreswechsel sende ich Dir unseren innigsten Wünsche. Ich habe lange nichts von Dir gehört. Die Karten vom 22.X. u. 8.X habe ich erhalten. Ich schrieb Dir Karten am 4. U. 5. Nov., 3. Dez., Brief am 10. Dez. – Wir sind nun wieder in K. u. wohnen bei meinem Schwager. Es geht uns gut. Ich habe jetzt wenig zu tun, spüre aber doch sehr die enormen Anstrengungen der letzten Monate. Von Vater höre ich öfters, aber nie so ausführlich wie ich möchte. Wie geht es Fajans und Lieselotte. Vor allem aber Dir, liebes Jungel! Schreibe doch mal ausführlicher, event. an Vater u. an mich den Durchschlag. Wir sind immer von neuem gerührt über Deine Hilfsbereitschaft. Hoffentlich

Dear Lad,
For the new year, I am sending you our heartfelt wishes. I haven't heard from you in a long time. I received the postcards from December 22nd and December 8th. I wrote you postcards on November 4th and 5th, December 3rd, and a letter on December 10th. We are now back in Karlsruhe and are staying with my brother-in-law. We are doing well. I don't have much to do now, but I can feel the enormous stress of the past few months. I often hear from Father, but never in as much detail as I would like. How are Fajans and Liselotte? Most importantly, how are you, my dear lad? Write in more detail, and perhaps to Father. Send me the copy. We are always touched by your willingness to help.
