This scrapbook documents a September 20, 1960 Board of Directors visit to the Beckman plant in Glenrothes, Fife in Scotland. The book contains a map and several photographs of news stories related to Beckman's Scotland operations, but the bulk of the photographs feature portraits of the Board and employees at the plant and at a celebratory dinner. During the trip, Beckman Instruments, Inc. celebrated its 25th anniversary. An invitation for the event, notes for a toast, and a community bulletin with an article about the factory and event are included in the scrapbook.

Individuals in the photographs, some identified by context or notes affixed to pages, include Arnold and Mabel Beckman, Robert and Sally Erickson, Edwin Taylor, Frederick Ehrman, Lowell Stanley, Ray Untereiner, Jack McNally, Jean Lindsay, and (possibly) Bridge and Lumsden.

The invitation includes a list of the Corporate Board of Directors of Beckman Instruments, Inc. (Arnold Beckman, Frederick L. Ehrman, Robert Erickson, Lowell Stanley, Edwin W. Taylor, and Ray E. Untereiner), the British Board of Directors of Beckman Instruments, Ltd. (J. A. Lumsden, C. J. Bridge, and J. R. McNally), other guests (Lord Craighton, Rt. Hon. The Earl of Elgin and Kincardine, Lady Ruth Balfour, Lor Polwarth, Sir Garnet Wilson, Sir Robert Maclean, William Hughes, Brigadier A. R. Purches, W. S. Robertson, Bailie Duncan Weatherstone, Vaughn R. DeLong, L. A. Bailey, J. G. S. Gammell, C H. Offord, and J. H. McGuinness), and their spouses.

The notes, intended for distribution to the press, were used for a toast delivered by Lord Craigton, C.B.E., Minister of State for Scotland, at the September 20th anniversary dinner.

The Glenrothes Bulletin Vol. 6, No. 8, October 1960 includes community news, letters to the editor, opinion pieces, advertisements, and, on page 17, an article about Beckman Instruments, Inc.'s 25th anniversary celebration the previous month. The article discussed some of the comments made and gifts presented at the dinner, as well as the neonatal use of oxygen analyzers (including at a local hospital), the size and gender breakdown of the factory's labor force, and prospects for expansion.
