Portrait of Hans Fischer (1881-1945), recipient of the 1930 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his work in determining the constitution of haemin and chlorophyll. Fischer was a German organic chemist and professor a the Technical University of Munich.

The caption beneath the photograph reads "Herzlichen dank für die freundlichen glückwünsche," or "Thank you very much for the kind congratulations."
