Report written by Kenneth R. Shoulders (1927-2013) for a military-focused Helicopter Escape and Rescue Outfit (HERO), one of two solo aircraft Shoulders designed while at Stanford Research Institute (SRI). HERO was conceived as a wearable or solo-operated compact aerial device intended for military escape and rescue operations. The HERO concept never reached mass production or commercial viability.
