Caricature of American chemist Charles Lathrop Parsons (1867-1954) created by artist J.C. Weller at the 1931 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Buffalo, New York. Parsons worked as a chemist and mineralogist at the U.S. Bureau of Mines and notably served as executive secretary of the American Chemical Society from 1919 to 1946.
